The Test

As a mom to an active 2 1/2 year old boy and a 5 month old daughter, heels may not be the first pair of shoes I decide to wear these days. In the event I wear heels on a girl's outing or on a date with my husband, I need to gradually get my sea legs back to wearing heels again and adding insoles is a great way to do that.

Three years ago when I was working full time as a manager along with being pregnant with my first child, getting relief while being on my feet for over 9 hours (except for the hour lunch and a couple minutes for potty breaks) was a must. I continued to wear my favorite 5 inch heels up until my 7 1/2 month of pregnancy. By month 5 of this pregnancy, I decided to put insoles in my heels which helped tremendously! So getting these new insoles was pretty exciting because of my previous experience.

The first time I wore 'Ball of Foot' insoles was when I went out on a girl's day out with my best friend. A day of shopping with a late lunch was what this mama really needed with caring for a toddler and infant as her full time job. I decided the best heels were my brown Zara heels which had a 5 inch heel to it.

Similar to many ladies out there, I 'break in my heels' to get them to conform to my foot or I conform to the heels (whichever way you see it) which can be painful and these Zara heels were no exception.  It had been a while since I've worn these heels, so breaking them in and feeling comfortable while I do that will be the challenge. Oh what we do for fashion!

To get started, I broke through the paper backing of the Dr. Scholl's Ball of Foot insoles and removed 2 insoles. It is really easy to apply  - after removing the plastic backing from the adhesive side, place insoles where the ball of your feet would be in your heels and you're ready to go.

I slipped into my pumps and immediately felt a difference. My foot was snug in my heels which was nice because it literally fit like a glove. The point of my foot that I get strained pressure most is the balls of my foot when I wear any pair of heels and after three hours of being out with my girlfriend my heels did not annoy me.

I've used these insoles on three separate occasions and felt the same way I felt when I first used them - comfortable and not being annoyed with my heels. I'm really happy with these insoles and it is great that I can wear my heels without the worry of strain or painful pressure at the ball of my foot.

In short -

Performance - Was able to help relieve the strain and pressure I would usually feel at the ball of my foot in heels without these insoles.
Quality - Sturdy and after 4 uses, it was still in great shape.
