Hawaiian Tropic Silk Hydration Lotion Sunscreen

Summer brings on fun-in-the-sun activities such as being pool side, going to the beach, hiking, etc but we can't forget about protecting and moisturizing our skin!

In a previous post about the importance of hydrating our skin, I shared that by keeping skin moisturized it avoids premature aging and helps keep our skin hydrated. I know aging is inevitable but if I can be proactive with avoiding signs of premature aging from showing up, then why not!

Who wears short shorts? [Review + Giveaway]

You can! With the summer here it is time to show off your loveliness along with cute outfits and a great reliable grooming tool is key!

I've tried a number of shaving products with and without electric features and know what I'm looking for in product. I personally like using a 'wet/dry' electric shaver for my grooming needs and I have come across shavers that tug or give me razor burns which is really painful.

I was able to use the ClioStyle's Palmperfect Electric Shaver on several occasions and came to this conclusion.

Giant Vintage Sunglasses [Review + Giveaway] - Closed/ WORLDWIDE

It's officially summer and the sun brings on the heat with UV rays that can affect our skin, body and our eyes. Sunglasses aren't just an accessory to complete your outfit of the day but necessary for eye protection.
Ultraviolet (UV) light rays from the sun not only can damage the skin, they can also harm the eyes. Long-term exposure to UV light increases the risk of cataracts, a clouding of the eye's lens. Some experts believe UV rays increase the risk of macular degeneration, a chronic disease that affects the central vision.
Sunglasses are an easy and effective way to protect against UV rays. "It's best to wear sunglasses any time you're outside and need sun protection," says Dr. Khan [source]
To prepare my summer look, I went on a search for a perfect pair of sunglasses knowing they were crucial in protecting my eyes but I had to ensure it suited my style. I appreciate a lot of different styles and found a great website called Giant Vintage which sold sunglasses that ranged from vintage to modern style sunglasses.

You are SICK!

A couple of days ago, I was feeling a bit off so I drank some EmergenC to help ward off the sickies. Within hours I was feeling better and didn't feel any symptoms of being sick. Until yesterday at 4am, I woke up to some major chills and with a temperature of 100.5!

Things that I initially do when I'm having chills is to cover my entire body (head included) and try to create a heating incubator under the covers. This helped me warm up from the chills then to the point where I was sweating. I do this because I think it releases some of the sickness out of my pores and I like the cool feeling once I'm out from under the covers.

After I had awaken, I took a shower and took more vitamin c with some tablets of Tylenol. My fever had gone down and I was back to normal while I spent time with our Fam bam on Sunday. I was even able to lay out in the sun for 30 minutes.

When we got home, I was exhausted which was most likely from the sun. I took lil ma upstairs where I fed her and we napped. I woke up at 830p and I was burning up at a temp of 101.8 degrees! What?!?

I took more Tylenol and drank lots of water. Within the next 2 hours my fever had subsided a tad to 100 degrees. Since my human alarm clock (lil ma) woke me up in the early morning I was able to take my temp again which was at 97.8 degrees.

So far, the fever has not returned (yet) but I am definitely feeling tired and my body aches.

So what are some things that you do that help you handle either the initial onset or help you during the fever or cold cycle?

For me it is the blanket incubator and eating ramen noodles. Unfortunately, we didn't have any ramen packages in the house so I had some leftovers from Fam bam lunch. You gotta drink lots of water and try to eat!

I always say how getting sick during the summer or warm season sucks and I will say it again.... It sucks getting sick when it's hot out. Yuck!

Well, I'm going to take a nap and try to recover back to my normal self. You guys have a great week!!

Stay beautiful inside and out!

Laters,

Ree

May cosmo mag -Ree notes

As nugget watches toy story 2, I'm perusing the May copy of Cosmo.

From the Cosmo mag, Top take aways for me were:

1. If you like Regina Spektor will love Thao & Mirah
2. On the stud meter, top 2 dudes were Henry Cavill (from the Tudors - def hotter than Jonathan Rhys Meyers w his crazy eyes) and Bruno Mars. 2 bottom listers were Drake and Mario Lopez.
3. Katy Perry on her perfume, Purr, ad. Rawr!
4. Article - 25 things not to apologize for, most relateable to me are: 1. Oohing and aahing over babies, 2. As you follow up... again, 3. When you hate a tv show everyone loves, 4. After purging a few Facebook friends, 5. When you want to pay for only what you ate.
5. Buying a few happy hour cocktails once a week ($936/year) = 6 kindles
6. Love killers - reasons for ditching your dude.79% - he cheated, 30%- changed mind about having kids, 20%- had major religious differences, 15%- age gap became noticeable, 8%- conflicting political views.
7. Article - the father factor: 3 things you must do with your dad now (as an adult) to help get to know each other and evolve a relationship. 1. Invite him to the office, 2. Go to a beet tasting together, 3. Talk on the phone.
8. Four things to prep for summer: 1. A fan, 2. White ethereal dress, 3. Portable grill, 4. Striped beach tote

That is all, happy Sunday!
