Let dry and seal with a top coat for extra shine

Where to Buy

Suggested Retail Price: $9.99

The Test -

In May I received a magnetic polish in Kylie (a purple shade) from JulepI was already familiar with using a magnetic polish when I received this Sally Hansen magnetic polish in Polar Purple.

Want to create Magnetic Cupcakes using this magnetic nail polish? Here's a tutorial -

While creating the tutorial, this was the first time I had used the Polar Purple and felt that I had gotten the same results from when I used the Julep polish.

Overall, I liked this polish because it gave me the '3D' effect without too much work. The price for a bottle is great at $9.99 given there are similar bottles for over this amount and it is easily available at a majority of retail stores. There are 8 beautiful colors to choose from and some of which are perfect as we quickly approach fall.

Pro -

Easy to use & remove
Each nail design is unique
Great way to create 3D effect with only one product
Easily available at majority retail store
Reasonably priced for a multi-functional polish

Ranked: 5 out 5 stars
Recommend to a friend? YES!

What do you think of magnetic polishes? Have you picked up on this trend?

lush eyelashes?? False eyelashes can give any eye look a kick of drama and I was able to try two pairs of lashes by Coveted Cosmetics

About Coveted cosmetics
We are a humble boutique store that sells quality handmade products like false eyelashes and nail polish strips. We started out in the cosmetics business in the fall of 2008 and have been steadily growing step by step since. Based in the laid back city of Vancouver with its natural beauty, fabulous nightlife and chic boutique shopping, our brand is a reflection of the city’s lifestyle. Our false eyelashes are meticulously hand woven from natural hair fiber. Our quality is comparable to designer brand lashes, but our price is at a fraction of the price. We can maintain this low price because we have a much lower overhead and don’t have to spend money on advertising.
Coveted Cosmetics False Eyelashes are handmade pieces of art. Each individual fiber is meticulously woven together to form beautiful, strong false lashes. We use only sterilized natural hair in their production. The false eyelashes are woven with attention to detail and a lot of patience! The end result is a masterpiece of light, wispy, beautiful lashes that are designed and made to wow the world! Even though they feel feather light, their weaving is strong and durable. With proper care they can last you many unforgettable nights.

Our company is based in the beautiful city of Vancouver BC, Canada. Our false eyelashes are made in Indonesia. The factory, located in the clean open countryside of Indonesia, helps to support the livelihood of the local people. We feel that it is important our products come from humble beginnings. The factory plays a role in supporting the local economy, providing wages to allow families to send their children to school, provide medical care to the elderly and improve their living standards. The factory produces very little chemical waste as the hair fibers used to make the lashes are natural and the weaving is done by hand. Coveted Cosmetics is honored to have such a valuable partner in maintaining the excellent quality our brand has become known for. We believe supporting all people in their pursuit of a better life is everyone’s social responsibility. [source]

Magnetic Kylie [Julep May It Girl - unbox & tutorial]

My Julep's May box was highly anticipated because it had a magnetic nail polish called Kylie. The magnetic nail polish had made its debut several months ago retailing between $15 to $20 a bottle and I was excited that Julep came out with their version. It's great to have gotten this polish along with two additional polishes and a mini pedi cream sample with my monthly membership. Can we say a box valued WAY over it's box purchase? I can!

Are YOU due for a Deep Cleaning.....

On your makeup brushes??

It is suggested to deep clean your makeup brushes on a monthly basis but more often if you don't clean your brushes after each use!

Did you know...
Not properly cleansing brushes encourages the harboring of bacteria and oils that promote breakouts, a less than even makeup application, resulting in muddy, dull colors, and shortens the lifespan of your brushes. [source]

Weleda: A natural facial cream & tutorial

With the hormones during and after pregnancy along with the weather changes, I felt my skin had taken a beating! While pregnant, I  did all natural/diy masks to help pamper my skin and ensure that I was using products that weren't harmful to my daugher or me. Now almost three months after her birth,  I continue to look for products that will help me revitalize my skin and be proactive about caring for my skin from inevitable future wrinkles.

In the middle of March, I received my month's box from Bluum and found two products that really addressed my aforementioned concerns. They were the Weleda Almond soothing facial lotion and the Weleda Wild Rose smoothing night cream.

Over 3 months ago, I had a goal of doing a month long of different makeup looks which would have been fine if I didn't feel so gross and suffered morning sickness. But this was the first morning (after nugget went down for a nap) that I was feeling up for a makeup look.

So I decided to do this look today -

Self Portrait Tutorial!!

One of my May resolution was to do three tutorials. Here is my first of the three.

Set up:
I am a very amateur photographer (who just started in February 2011) and I'm learning so many things with my Nikon D3100. One of the things that I really like doing are self portraits. In one of my late night researches, I found a fellow photographer name SnapChick who did self portraits and had sent me a link to a program to download to have my camera capture pictures at an interval. The program worked great with my PC but it didn't work with my Mac. I did more research and found - Icarus Camera Control, and must I say - I LOVE THIS PROGRAM to bits!!!

Here is my first tutorial on how I use Icarus Camera:

Here is a teaser from my self portrait shoot earlier today. Visit my photoblog for more!

Here are the links to the programs to download. They are completely FREE and do NOT require a sign up.

Just in case the above program doesn't work, here are the other two that I've used -

If you liked this and found it helpful, let me know!! Questions? Holler at your girl!

Share it, like it, retweet it!

Thanks for visiting!

Laters!
