Review: Earth Day 2012 mineral eyeshadow by Ferro Cosmetics

What is mineral makeup?
Bare Escentuals started what it dubbed “the mineral revolution” when it launched its loose powder foundations in the mid 70s. Competing brands soon followed, all offering the claim that mineral makeup, made from crushed pure minerals, was more “natural” than conventional makeup.
What makes mineral makeup different from traditional makeup isn’t the ingredients it contains, but what’s left out. That list, for many leading brands, includes preservatives, parabens, mineral oil, chemical dyes, and fragrance. These are all possible causes of irritation, one reason many dermatologists recommend mineral makeup.
Titanium dioxide and zinc oxide are both physical sun blocks, so a uniform application of mineral makeup will provide some sun protection. “It’s sufficient for those days when you’re just running a few errands outside.." [webmd]

Hyrdate your face already!

Have you ever wondered what the importance of moisturizing and including spf in your skin care was? Well, one of my friends asked me facial moisturizer advice recently and thought I'd share a bit about it.

I have combination oily skin and before being regimented in my current moisturizer use, I used to think moisturizer was an optional thing. Along with that, I enjoy tanning and would use little to no spf protection on my face until my best friend told me that I should start to care for my skin better.

With some research, I realized I could be causing irreversible skin damage which I needed to change!

Day 4 & 5 - Blog Challenge

So I ended up slacking yesterday and didn't get to post a blog for my challenge. Today will be days 4 & 5. One photography blog and one random blog.

Day 4 - self portrait 1/23
On day 4, I got to play with some makeup and took these pictures. Our house is a mess and I haven't been able to tidy much since before our daughter was born, so I had to find a place that didn't show the mess and had sunlight.

Here are some pictures with my Nikon D3100.

day 5 - something i'm looking forward to

I am most looking forward to my daughter turning 3 months! When my son was born, he was a month premature and it was during the winter season. So we didn't take him out (except for doctor's appointments) for fear of getting sick. From November to February, people were prone to getting sick and we didn't want to risk him getting sick.

So we are doing the same with our daughter. Being that she was also a month premature, we don't need to socialize her that bad that we want to risk her getting sick especially since the flu/colds are going around.

I have been editing a new beauty video and will be posting soon! I will have another blog for that!

Thanks for visiting and don't forget to subscribe!! ---->

•Day 03- Describe a typical day

60 day blog challenge - •Day 03- Describe a typical day

Since having my daughter on December 29, my typical day has been a sleepless and very repetitive one.  My husband and mom have been great with helping watch Nugman (our 2 year old little man) while I focus on recovering from delivery and caring for my daughter.

2am - wake up to feed little miss
3am - go back to sleep
5am - wake up to feed little miss
6am - go back to sleep (gotta nap when she naps)
8am - wake up to feed little miss
9am - get something to eat
10am - watch TV or hop online
11am - feed little miss
12pm - 2pm - maybe nap or watch tv
2pm - feed little miss
2pm-5pm - maybe nap or watch tv
5pm - feed little miss
5pm - 7pm - hang out with hubby and nugman
7pm - dinner and get nugman ready for bedtime
8pm - feed little miss
8pm - 11pm - hang out with hubby and hop online; sleep or just wait until next feeding
11pm - feed little miss

.... you can see that this continues the whole day and continues for weeks

I know this sounds very boring but this is the life i'm living while I get adjusted with life with a new infant and a super active 2 year old.

It'll definitely change once I've got the hang of adjusting with 2 kiddos!

A 60 day blog challenge!

I recently created my first parody/spoof video on youtube and it's kicked start a desire to create more! To create more comedy skits, to have more beauty/tutorials, and to blog more!

Why a 60 day challenge while others are only 30 days? The choice of which content to do for the day.

I found 2 different topics that I'd LOVE to blog about and this gives me the versatility to choose which one I want to blog about for any given day.

First topic is a 30 day photography challenge. I've slacked a lot in my photography hobby since getting pregnant and hope this will help get me back into it! Here is the challenge -

-----

The 2nd blog challenge is a regular 30 day blog challenge on numerous types of topics.

30 Day Blogging Challenge

•Day 01- A recent picture of you and 15 interesting facts about yourself
•Day 02- What is your song/s of the moment

•Day 09- Something you’re proud of
•Day 10- Songs you listen to when you are Happy, Sad, Bored, Hyped, Mad
•Day 11- a person you would love to meet.
•Day 12- Your Blog Story.
•Day 13- What is your current obsession
•Day 14- A drunken story

•Day 16- Another picture of yourself (baby pic!)

•Day 26- 5 things you wan to change

•Day 28- A picture of you last year and now, how have you changed since then?
•Day 29- In this past month, what have you learned
•Day 30- Who are you?

So this 60 day challenge will start tomorrow and on days I don't get to blog, I'll blog the number of blog topics missed from either list mentioned above.
